Wading Fishing

Idaho's St. Joe River "Cutthroat" Adventure
Few Fisherman realize that the remnant populations of cutthroat are now only found in less than 2% of our western rivers. Panhandle Outfitters will guide you back to the days of Lewis & Clark where you can still experience wild native cutthroat. If continuos dry-fly action is your pleasure it's the trademark of these prized fish.

Idaho's St. Joe is nationally classified as a Wild and Scenic River. Imagine yourself on a virgin river where the trout are wild, the flowers are scarlet and the pine trees march straight up the mountain. Home to the westslope cutthroat this freestone fishery offers some of the highest quality and most scenic walk and wade fishing in the west. Key attractions are prolific hatches, high fish counts per river mile, wild dry-fly action and native cutthroat to 20 inches.

We offer over 70 miles of uncrowded river solitude with guides attentive to your personal needs. Fishing season is from June to October. All of our Guides are licensed professionals within the state of Idaho and each state wherein we operate. Our complete package trips include transportation, all meals and sleeping accommodations.

Idaho's Clearwater River "Steelhead" Adventure
Steelhead trout return to the Clearwater River after spending 3 years at sea and on average are the largest steelhead in the lower 48. If you have dreamed about fishing for trophy steelhead or you are already familiar with hooking cold-blooded steel, our guides will position you for the best possible drift. Our 16-foot Mckenzie style drift boats allow a comfortable way to fish this big water. Fly fishing season is September through October and drift tackle season is November until April.

Montana's blue ribbon Kootenai River is known as the state's most exciting tailwater fishery. It is located in a mountainous area containing lush forested valleys.
